Gaming the Museum (meetup)
This event is organised by the meSch partner Allard Pierson Museum and is part of the Virtual Museum Network Amsterdam Meetup Series.
More and more museums include gaming elements into their (digital) offer. Museum games or serious games are offered on gallery, through kiosks and hand-held devices, and online. But what happens when we try to see the museum visit itself as a game? What can we learn from gaming theory when we think about routing, crowd control and retaining visitors’ attention, for example. Or are games too much fun to be suitable for a museum context? Our guest speaker Eelco Braad is Senior Lecturer/Researcher Game Design & Development at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences (Groningen).
