DEN Foundation
The Digitaal Erfgoed Nederland Foundation (DEN) is the Dutch knowledge center for digital heritage. DEN supports archives, museums and other heritage institutions in the Netherlands to improve their digital strategies and services. Role in the project: DEN leads the WP dissemination and exploitation and fulfills technical research tasks in the WPs evaluation and infrastructure & implementation. People involved:
- Marco de Niet is the director of the DEN foundation. He studied Dutch language and literature, and history of the book at Leiden University. He is actively involved in the Europeana Network and he is also a core partner in the ENUMERATE project, to set up a statistical framework to measure the progress of digitisation in Europe.
- Marco Streefkerk is senior officer at the DEN Foundation since 2009. He is member of the management board of the CIP ICT PSP project Europeana Inside, leading WP2 on specification. Marco is also heavily involved in the Europeana Network, participating in Europeana Tech, member of the Steering Committee of the Dutch national aggregator, member also of the Task Force on PPP.
- Wietske van den Heuvel is knowledge officer at DEN. Wietske holds a BA in Communication and Information Sciences, a MA in New Media and Digital Culture and a MA in Arts Policy and Management. Previous work experience includes working on projects like Images of the Future, EUscreen and VidiVideo. Contact: mesch@den.nl
