Museo Storico Italiano della Guerra
Museo Storico Italiano della Guerra (MdG), or the Italian Historical War Museum, welcomes 40.000 visitors a year and is the reference point for 19 local museums all related to the Great War. It also looks after a number of archaeological remains, mainly forts and trenches. The museum has a permanent collection on display and a temporary exhibition space. It hosts historical archives, a photographic library and stores a large collection on artifacts ranging from personal belongings to artillery. The Italian Historical War Museum has also an educational role and organizes events for schools both indoor and outdoor. It offers a consultancy service for researchers, public and local authorities.
Role in the project: To help the personalization by providing detailed information about different typologies of visitors of museums and historical sites, visitors expectations and visitors behaviours during the visit. Also to provide multimedia content to be used in the case study. Collaboration in experimenting new technologies of information. Collaboration in collecting information about the effectiveness of the tested technologies.
People involved:
- Camillo Zadra has been the director of the museum for 16 years. He holds an MA in History and Philosophy and has been a teacher for 20 years. During his time at the museum he has been the curator for 9 thematic exhibitions. He often presents at conferences on museums and learning.
- Anna Pisetti has a MA in Italian Language and Literature. She has been with the museum for 12 years and is responsible for all the learning activities at the museum. She has a long-standing experience on working with schools and preparing material suitable for children (7-10) and teenagers (10- 18).
